About the role
The Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF) is the world's largest online design and AI education platform, with over 1,150,000 enrollments since 2002. Trusted by industry giants like Adobe, NASA, and IBM, and integrated into curricula at MIT and Cambridge, IxDF is dedicated to making high-quality design education accessible to everyone, everywhere.
As a Course Writer and Editor, you will shape how educational content reads and flows, turning expert knowledge from leaders at Netflix, Meta, and Adobe into engaging learning experiences. You will be a core part of the Editorial Team, deciding how every course sounds and ensuring complex ideas are turned into clear, actionable lessons for a global audience.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, result-driven environment with minimal bureaucracy. You will collaborate with Education Designers and Course Directors to lead the written experience of courses, Master Classes, and articles, helping learners thrive in the age of AI through human-centered design.
What you'll do
- Finalize scripts, hooks, headings, quiz wording, and editorial voice across all published content.
- Turn one-hour Master Class transcripts and learning goals into finished, structured lessons.
- Collaborate with the video team to provide feedback on on-screen text, graphics, and animations.
- Set and raise the standard for assessments to ensure questions test deep understanding rather than simple recognition.
- Write and edit course descriptions, articles, and supporting materials for growth campaigns and social copy.
- Analyze completion rates and learner feedback to implement small, incremental improvements to existing material.
- Maintain and improve internal documentation to ensure knowledge resources stay up-to-date and clear.
- Provide proactive feedback on course structure, pressure-testing material to add what is missing and delete redundancies.
What they're looking for
- At least 4 years of professional writing or editing experience.
- Native-level fluency in written and spoken English with exact grammar and mastery of tone and brevity.
- Proven ability to translate complex ideas for beginners without watering down the content.
- Collaborative experience with AI tools to research and create faster while maintaining human leadership over the output.
- Exceptional talent for creating structure and organizing processes efficiently.
- Ability to write for a diverse, global audience, including non-native English speakers.
- A sharp eye for detail and the ability to take full ownership of projects.
Nice to have
- A background in design is not required, but a genuine curiosity about UX, UI, and how AI is changing design education is essential.
