About the role
Kit is growing, and we are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to help us navigate legal complexities with clarity, speed, and commercial savvy. You'll serve as the in-house legal subject matter expert, partnering closely with the executive team to lead product legal strategy and execution.
You'll help shape the legal backbone of a fast-moving tech company with multiple revenue streams—including SaaS, digital commerce, paid recommendations, and advertising. You will be at the center of complex, cross-functional problems where product, business, and legal strategy meet to help creators build valuable businesses.
You'll report to the Chief Operating Officer and partner regularly with leaders across product, sales, finance, and people operations. You'll own core legal work in-house, reduce the need for outside counsel, and manage specialized external counsel when needed.
What you'll do
- Lead product legal strategy and execution around privacy, data, AI, compliance, and commercial contracts.
- Build practical, repeatable systems for responding to a growing volume of privacy questions, particularly for the Subscriber Signals product.
- Develop a deep understanding of Kit, SparkLoop, and Subscriber Signals to advise the business effectively.
- Design and build scalable intake, guidance, and escalation systems for legal and privacy support.
- Take ownership of GDPR and data compliance vetting and establish processes for customer security questionnaires.
- Build scalable systems such as playbooks, templates, and self-service guidance for recurring legal questions.
- Partner throughout the product lifecycle on initiatives and feature releases to ensure legal alignment.
- Prioritize legal risks and streamline workflows to increase speed, confidence, and self-service.
What they're looking for
- Expertise in data privacy, AI, and compliance within a tech environment.
- Experience managing commercial contracts and customer security requirements.
- Ability to partner with executive teams and cross-functional leaders in product, engineering, and GTM.
- Capability to build and scale legal systems and processes in-house.

The hot takeJeff's read on Kit
I can't freaking believe this...We've been using Kit for over five years to send and manage emails for Beach Commute, but never considered them for the Anywhere Atlas. We're gonna fix that right now. Here's what little I know about working at Kit as of this moment:
- ✅ 5.0 Glassdoor score (22 reviews).
- ✅ Offer flexible hours.
- ✅ Transparent Salaries.
- Oh, and have you EVER heard of this perk that PAYS you for taking time off?!
Paid paid vacation: An after-tax bonus of $1,000 for taking five consecutive days of vacation where you're fully unplugged from work.
Also, this is something everyone should consider when applying for a job: You do NOT need to meet 100% of a companies job requirements in a job listing.
*“Research tells us that applicants who are *female* or non-binary, as well as applicants who are people of color, are less likely to apply for roles they do not feel 100% qualified for. If you think you meet more than 50% of our requirements but fewer than 100% of them, please apply. We're imperfect communicators, so think of our job postings as the starting point for discussion rather than proof that you shouldn't apply.”*
