Knowledge Futures is all about building digital infrastructure that helps communities share documents and data more effectively. Think of them as an independent nonprofit organization fueled by a mix of academics, industry experts, and advocates coming together to craft tools and protocols that make knowledge accessible to everyone. Since kicking off in 2018 thanks to a cool partnership between the MIT Press and the MIT Media Lab, their main gig is creating reliable tech that supports libraries, presses, museums, activists, researchers, and others who are big on sharing knowledge with the world.
