    About the role

WiFi Tribe is a vetted global community for remote professionals who seek growth and long-lasting travel connections. Over 8 years, we’ve brought 2,500 nomads together in 80 cities to colive and cowork around the world, one month at a time.

We’re looking for a Tech Lead & Business Ops to take charge of our technology stack and help keep the day-to-day of the company operating smoothly. You’ll help scale our operations by enhancing our booking systems, integrating external services, and automating workflows.

We’re a tight-knit, fully remote team of 13 representing 10 different nationalities, driven by passion for our mission and love for our community.

    What you'll do

    • Take full ownership of WiFi Tribe’s tech stack, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
    • Define and oversee the architecture and workflows for our booking platform—focused on design, not coding—ensuring seamless execution by the development team.
    • Design, implement, and optimise integrations with third-party systems to enhance functionality.
    • Partner with operations, marketing, and other teams to identify areas for workflow automation and implement solutions.
    • Collaborate across departments to ensure technology aligns with business needs.
    • Plan and execute the development of a custom Property Management System (PMS) or evaluate and implement third-party solutions.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure or application issues, keeping the team productive and systems running smoothly.
    • Manage technical projects from concept to completion, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery.

    What they're looking for

    • Experience with payment integrations and CRM platforms to streamline workflows and optimise business processes.
    • Experience integrating external APIs and services: proven ability to connect and manage third-party tools to enhance functionality and performance.
    • 2+ years of server administration and management: proficient in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising server environments.
    • 2+ years of experience with database management: strong knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
    • Hands-on experience running custom web applications, ensuring stability and performance.
    • Thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment and juggle multiple priorities under pressure.
    • A meticulous problem solver who analyses data and understands root causes through first-principle thinking.
    • Strategic and organised, with a love for creating systems that empower teams.
    • A self-starter who takes ownership of projects from start to finish and delivers results.
    • A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills in a remote-first environment.
    • Embrace rapid iteration and short-release cycles for customer-facing and internal tools.
    • Balance the trade-offs between building in-house tools and integrating external services.

    Nice to have

    • 2+ years of experience with Docker or Kubernetes, with familiarity with containerisation and orchestration concepts.
    • Experience with low code and automation tools such as Zapier to build integrations or apps.
    • Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to support collaboration with development teams.
    • Experience with web application development workflows, preferably with exposure to Python, Django, and PostgreSQL environments.
    • Knowledge of SysOps/DevOps practices for system operations and infrastructure automation.
    • Experience with data analysis and business intelligence reporting using tools such as Tableau, Metabase or advanced spreadsheet formulae.
    • Experience with remote work or digital nomad culture and distributed teams.
