About the role
At Zyte, we're pioneering the next revolution in web data extraction, empowering businesses to focus on innovation. We tackle obstacles like dynamic web structures and anti-scraping measures by providing best-in-class tools for seamless, reliable data extraction for over 3,000 companies.
Reverse engineering is at the heart of how Zyte stays ahead in the banning war. You will build the tools, pipelines, and automation that let both engineers and AI agents solve complex antibot challenges at scale, turning breakthroughs into reusable tooling.
You'll work at the intersection of deep JS/VM reverse engineering and modern AI-assisted engineering, using LLMs and agentic tooling to compress the loop between discovery and shipping solutions.
What you'll do
- Reverse-engineer the hardest antibot and fingerprinting systems across JS VMs, WASM, and polymorphic code.
- Build JS function tracing, deobfuscation pipelines, and fingerprint-inspection tooling for automated workflows.
- Use AI aggressively—LLMs, agents, and custom automation—to deobfuscate, classify, and diagnose detection surfaces.
- Build and maintain website intel pipelines with checkpointed history to diff against known-good baselines.
- Feed AI reverse-engineering and ban-resolution systems the context and signals needed to autonomously resolve cases.
- Codify one-off reverse-engineering wins into durable tools, rules, and pipelines.
- Collaborate across engineering to fold tooling into the custom browser stack and mentor others in AI-augmented techniques.
What they're looking for
- Hacker mindset able to rapidly develop proof-of-concepts and working tools.
- Demonstrated use of AI tooling (LLMs, coding agents, automation) to accelerate engineering.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/Node.js and Python with exceptional problem-solving ability.
- Strong research, debugging, fuzzing, and reverse-engineering skills, including static, dynamic, and concolic analysis.
- Hands-on experience reversing JavaScript VMs, WASM, and heavily obfuscated or polymorphic code.
- Deep understanding of operating systems and computer networking concepts.
- Adept with tools such as Wireshark and Burp Suite for intercepting and debugging network traffic.
- Understanding of browser engines, browser fingerprinting, and antibot/anti-scraping mechanisms.
Nice to have
- Experience with reverse-engineering tools like IDA, Ghidra, Frida, or Babel.
- Experience building tooling or pipelines that feed machine-learning or AI systems.
- Experience with C/C++ and Rust.
- Core contributions to Mozilla or Chromium projects.
