About the role
At Tilt, we see a side of people that traditional lenders miss. Our mobile-first products and machine learning-powered credit models look beyond credit scores, using over 250 real-time financial signals to recognize real potential. With millions of customers worldwide, we're not just changing how people access financial products — we're creating a new credit system that backs the working.
We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering team for Cashalo, our Philippines business. You'll act as the advisor to the Cashalo GM, in addition to leading an established, high-performing 11–12 person backend and mobile team. You'll own the ambiguous, cross-market problems that need sustained focus to solve.
What you'll do
- Serve as the functional leader for Cashalo, embedded in day-to-day partnership with the local GM.
- Lead an existing 11-12 person backend and mobile engineering team, continuing to drive high performance.
- Own ambiguous, multi-stakeholder business problems, like running and reading several concurrent, interdependent experiments.
- Bring proven engineering and product patterns from other Tilt markets into Cashalo, balancing patterns with regional requirements.
- Travel to the Philippines roughly once a quarter.
What they're looking for
- Deep, demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
- Product-first orientation - comfortable operating where technology already works, rather than looking to rebuild.
- Ability to take a broad, multi-stakeholder problem, identify the root cause, align the group and drive to a solution.
- Experience in startup/scrappy environments.
- Leveraging AI in your day to day workflow, building and using agents as a default.
- Ability to have robust technical discussions with Staff+ Engineers.
