About the role
Alpaca is a rapidly scaling self-clearing broker-dealer seeking a Product Manager to own the corporate actions lifecycle. The mission is to build systems, vendor relationships, and processes that ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across every corporate action.
The role involves ensuring operations scale reliably as Alpaca adds new event types, asset classes, and international markets. Over time, there is opportunity to grow into broader ownership across clearing and post-trade infrastructure, including security master and ledger integrity.
What you'll do
- Own the product roadmap for announcement capture, entitlement calculation, mandatory and voluntary event processing, payouts, and exception handling.
- Manage relationships with corporate action data providers and build announcement review workflows.
- Design staged automation for mandatory corporate actions and pre-reconciliation.
- Deliver entitlement worksheets, partial processing capabilities, and observability dashboards.
- Coordinate corporate-action work required for newly launched international markets.
- Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to prevent data conflicts across Security Master, brokerage, and ledger systems.
What they're looking for
- Deep working knowledge of brokerage corporate action processing, including announcement sources, dates, and mandatory vs. voluntary events.
- Proven track record in Product Management or technical program management at a fintech, brokerage, or financial infrastructure company.
- Experience in a broker-dealer, clearing firm, or custody/post-trade platform.
- Clearing and post-trade fluency regarding stock records, ledgers, settlements, and books and records.
- Exceptional ability to coordinate across Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Tax, Finance, and Legal.
- Technical fluency with data systems, vendor feeds, and reconciliation workflows.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with how corporate actions feed tax reporting (cost basis, wash sales, 1099 event mapping).
- Experience with B2B2C correspondent / broker-as-a-service models.
- AI-native PM workflow using tools like Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or custom agents.

The hot takeJeff's read on Alpaca
I like their clear views on the value of remote work, check out this quote from their careers page:
> "Our teams are not just global, we're also 100% remote and have team members in almost every time zone and continent (except Antarctica). By joining Alpaca you'll be part of a multicultural, international organization."
I also like that their Glassdoor scores are going up (now 3.7/5), and they have some solid testimonials. I'm a LITTLE wary of this statement that gives me a bit of a "hustle culture" vibe:
> "We're keen on that last 10% of effort and believe that the details do matter. If this sounds like you, then you're in the right place."
