Remote
🌶️ Hot take
Remote gets a RARE 5/5 on our remote emphasis scale. Everything about their careers page is THE model for how fully-remote companies should market themselves to prospects. The FIRST thing they talk about (in the freaking header) is their work-from-anywhere policy. Then they launch right into their asynchronous work style (and further reinforcement of their remote policy).
With a company size of 1,000+, HOW are they still able to maintain this employee-first mentality? No companies are able to scale AND maintain this line.
Oh, and you also know I’m a huge fan of a transparent handbook, so here’s theirs.
Updated note for Nov 4: Glassdoor reviews have dropped from 4.0 to 3.4 (down from 3.5 a few months ago). Again, don’t put all your stock in this, but use it as an indicator. Also note that I’ve heard from job applicants that your application may or may not be prioritized or compensated depending on your geographical location – but they do a good job of explaining this in each individual job listing. Read them carefully.

Workmotion Engineering
🌶️ Hot take
WorkMotion leans HEAVILY on their strong beliefs on hiring and working from anywhere. To lift a statement from their careers page: “By emphasizing talent over location, we’ve assembled a global team that values flexibility and relies on trust.” This is the way of the future employee-employer relationships.
Let me just add one more line that I absolutely love from their careers page:
“Trust based work. Organise your own schedule – we celebrate results, not hours spent working.” Can I get an amen from the back, please?!
Here’s some of the things I like:
💪 Gym membership: Get access to subsidised gym membership or sports club subscriptions.
😎 Flexible working: Make your own schedule and plan your work around your personal life. There are no in and out times.
💻 Asynchronous communication: Organise your own schedule. We celebrate results, not hours spent working.

Coursedog
🌶️ Hot take
I would love to see Coursedog talk a bit less about themselves and what they expect of their workers and more about what they can offer prospective employees in the introduction of their careers page. That said, they are fully-remote, have a transparent perk package, and strong Glassdoor reviews. Also, they tick one of the most important boxes in my book:
I also like their published views on work-life balance. I’d love to hear a little more about where they hire, and how they feel about working while traveling. Here’s some strong benefits and perks:
✈️ Unlimited PTO: “We value work-life balance and provide a high amount of autonomy. In service to this, our Paid Time Off policy has no annual limit.”
👶 Paid Parental Leave: “workplace, we offer up to twelve (12) weeks of paid parental leave for the primary care giver and six (6) weeks of paid leave for the secondary care giver.”
🏥 Healthcare: “We use a fixed contribution model for benefits with the employer premium contribution ranging from 99% to 55% for employee only, to 77% to 43% for employee + dependents. Other benefits include Spring Health, XP Health, Carrot Fertility, One Medical, and HSA & FSA options.”
🔎 What they do
Coursedog is the Integrated Academic Operations Platform, that empowers academic administrators to facilitate on-time completions and operational excellence. They offer integrated academic and event scheduling, course demand projections, curriculum management, and solutions through a singular, bi-directional integration with your Student Information System (SIS) online catalog.
📊 AtlasScore©
Coursedog gets an 81% on the Anywhere Atlas, putting them in the top 30% of all remote companies.
🏝️ Remote work policies
Fully-remote. Company policy: “Remote-First Since Inception. We value flexible working hours over set hours, results over number of hours, and asynchronous communication focused on transparency over need-to-know access.”

👉 Customer Success Manager: ($110k – $130k/year)
RemoFirst
🌶️ Hot take
You know I’m a huge sucker for employer-employee trust, so I’ll always screengrab of any mention I can find.
The only area they have a lower score in the Anywhere Atlas is for employee perks, because nothing is publicly published. I would LOVE to learn more from the company so that I can accurately rate them.
Note: Many of the roles below are not hire-from-anywhere, so read the job listings carefully.

Toptal
🌶️ Hot take
Toptal has one of my favorite (and clear) remote work policies:
I would love to see a little more information about the perks and benefits Toptal offers its employees.
Note: They do NOT appear to be a Hire From Anywhere (HFA) company. You likely need to be eligible to apply for certain positions.
🔎 What they do
Toptal is basically a go-to place for the creme de la creme in business, design, and technology – they’re the best of the best. They’re all about helping companies beef up their teams whenever they need to.
📊 AtlasScore©
Toptal gets a 63% on the Anywhere Atlas putting it in the top 60% of work-from-anywhere companies.
🏝️ Remote work policies
Work from anywhere. Company statement: “Work wherever, on your terms. Being a fully-remote workforce means that all you need is wifi and a laptop. You can work from home, your favorite cafe, or even a charming villa halfway around the world.”
Job Opportunities 🔥
Check out the roles they are currently hiring for below:
👉 Performance Marketing Specialist: ($65k – $115k/year)
👉 Financial Operations Specialist: ($55k – $95k/year)
Invisible Technologies
🌶️ Hot take
Invisible’s Glassdoor reviews are hovering around 3.5, which raises a bit of a yellow flag for me. Again, take GD reviews with a grain of salt, and simply an indicator.
Here’s a few things I DO like quite a bit. Check out their statement about autonomy and productivity on this page. Here’s a few of their beliefs I align with:
💻 On productivity: “We believe work isn’t about where you are or how many hours you log. It’s about what you accomplish.”
🏝️ On PTO: “Time off when you need it. No red tape. We care about outcomes, not optics.”
😎 On flexible hours: “Flexible work hours. Your hours are yours. What matters is the result, not when you open your laptop.”
🔎 What they do
Invisible io excels at deconstructing large, intricate business processes into smaller components, and optimizing AI and human collaboration for improved results.
📊 AtlasScore©
Invisible gets a 76% on the Anywhere Atlas putting it in the top 20% of work-from-anywhere companies.
🏝️ Remote work policies
Work from anywhere with caveats – many roles are location-dependent. You have to filter carefully. Company statement: “Invisible is a remote-first organization and hires new team members in countries around the world. Although many of our roles are fully remote, some roles may carry specific location-based eligibility requirements. Our Talent Acquisition team can help answer any questions about location after starting the recruiting process.”
Job Opportunities: 🔥
Check out the roles they are currently hiring for below:
👉 Director of Quality: ($159k – $217k/year)
👉 Principal Software Engineer: ($170k – $250k/year)
👉 Principal Backend Engineer: ($103k – $133k/year)
👉 Senior Software Engineer: ($94k – $121k/year)
Tilt (formerly Empower)
🌶️ Hot take
Oooooh there is so much here that I like! For starters, we have a 4.1 Glassdoor score with 100+ reviews – a great starting point. They have a solid remote work policy, and a lot of language and perks that I look for in a company, including the following, which warms my heart:
“Low meeting culture. Give us the data-driven recommendation on Slack over the meeting and multi slide deck.”
And how about this beauty?
🏥 Medical coverage: “Full health coverage. Find flexible plans at every premium level, and substantial subsidies that stand up to global standards.”
🏝️ Paid Retreats: “Paid global onsites. Magic happens IRL: we gather twice a year to reconnect over a shared meal or a kayaking adventure.”
🔌 Tech stipend: “Home office subsidy. You’re funded to get the gear you need to do your best work.”
⏰ Async work style: “We work in teams, but we work asynchronously. You know what you need to do and when it needs to be done.”
🔎 What they do
At Empower (now Tilt) it’s more than just a job; it’s diving into a culture pulsating with vibes of setting ambitious goals, owning decisions, and embracing spirited debates filled with diverse views. Respect is key, where every voice matters, knitting strong team bonds and crafting a win-win atmosphere. Their collective mission? Democratize fair credit access, empowering everyone to boost their financial well-being and freedom.

Our initial review of Tilt puts them at 83% on the Anywhere Atlas, putting them in the top 20% of all fully-remote companies.

Community Boost
🌶️ Hot take
I don’t get to write about Community Boost often because they aren’t often hiring, however, there are a lot of good things to consider when they ARE actively hiring. I would like to see more about their remote work policy, though. Their statement (posted below), is a little too vague for my liking.
🔎 Strong Glassdoor: CB has a Glassdoor rating of 4.2, putting them in the upper 25% of remote companies.
🏝️ Unlimited PTO: “We want to be uncomfortable with how much freedom our team has, so we offer unlimited paid time off so our team doesn’t have to choose between mental health days, long weekends or vacations.”
🏥 Healthcare: “Health is wealth, which is why we offer medical, dental, vision and life insurance – all available at the first of next month after your start date.”
🔌 Tech Stipend: “Macbooks, $100/mo Work-from-home stipend and access to over 3,000 co-working spaces.”
🔎 What they do

📊 AtlasScore©

🏝️ Remote work policies
Fully-remote, unclear about WFA. Company statement: “While we have an Office in San Diego, we are a remote-first culture. All employees receive Macbooks, $100/mo Work-from-home stipend and access to over 3,000 co-working spaces.”
Job Opportunities 🔥
Check out the roles they are currently hiring for below:
👉 Account coordinator (Independent Contractor): ($35k – $50k/year)
👉 Digital Specialist (Paid Social): ($50k – $70k/year)
Appinio
🌶️ Hot take
Ok this one is tricky for US-based citizens and more positive for EU-based citizens. From the company “If you’re based in the US, you can work outside the country for up to 4 weeks a year.” For EU citizens, you get about half a year working abroad. Due to the restrictions, I may only post this company once.
For starters, what a fun careers page…
Equestrian and spikeball aside (huge fan, my meniscus is not), there are a lot of things I like, starting with their remote work policy:
“Work from anywhere. Do your work from anywhere you can think of – whether in the office, at home, the beach, a hut in the mountains…”
They also have an unlimited PTO policy, a Macbook provided,
🔎 What they do
Appinio serves as a comprehensive destination for companies seeking real-time market research solutions, facilitating swift and astute decision-making. Supported by a remote team of researchers and data analysts, they provide invaluable insights that drive business strategies and lay the groundwork for market success.
📊 AtlasScore©
Appinio gets an 81% on the Anywhere Atlas, putting them in the top 30% of all fully-remote companies.
🏝️ Remote work policies
Work from anywhere. Company policy: “Got 99 problems but a desk view ain’t one. Work from anywhere. Do your work from anywhere you can think of – whether in the office, at home, the beach, a hut in the mountains.”

👉 Team Lead Client Relations: ($65k – $95k/year)
👉 Senior Content Marketing Manager: ($90k – $130k/year)
Canonical
🌶️ Hot take
Canonical is a bit tricky for me to review for a few reasons:
- Their Glassdoor reviews have dropped down to 3.1, right at my threshold. I’d want to see this start trending in the correct direction in order to consider them for inclusion again.
- I like they they have yearly sprints in cool locations like Cape Town, Madrid, and London.
- I like that hire-from-anywhere/work-from-anywhere roles are clearly labeled on the job listings as “worldwide.”
- I’d like to read more about how they feel about their employees traveling as a digital nomad, or being location-independent in general.
- I’d like to see more details about the perks they do or don’t offer employees, though I suspect they vary by hiring region.
Please get back to me, because I would like to include you again, but need a few more details to do so.
🔎 What they do
Canonical helps people and organizations tap into the power of open source to develop new products at speed and with confidence. Every team member contributes to this mission with a commitment to excellence.
📊 AtlasScore©
Canonical gets a 63% on the Anywhere Atlas, putting them in the top 67% of work-from-anywhere companies.
🏝️ Remote work policies
“Remote first”. Company statement: “Our remote-first policy enables us to collaborate with the best in the world in our domain. Though most team members work remotely, we meet each other at least twice per year during in-person sprints to nurture cross-team relationships. These sprints are funded by Canonical, and take place at locations around the world.”

Billtrust
🌶️ Hot take
Tons of things I like…but we’re just missing a more transparent remote work policy. They say “work from anywhere”, which is key, BUT their job listings say “United States”, which gives me pause. Check out the transparent perk package below.
I like the idea of the summer hours, but I still don’t want to see companies focusing on hours over output. If someone gets their job done in 50 hours in 10 days, who cares what they do with the rest of their time? Just food for thought.
🔎 What they do
Billtrust offers automated order-to-cash solutions that cater to various buyer needs. They expedite cash applications by customizing invoice delivery, enabling secure payments through multiple channels, and streamlining matching and payment processes.
📊 AtlasScore©
Billtrust gets a 73% on the Anywhere Atlas, putting them in the top 50% of all remote companies.
🏝️ Remote work policies
Fully remote, but I really need more information about whether or not they have geographic limitations (please DM me). Company policy: “Work from Anywhere: Your home, a coffee shop, a company paid WeWork…. you decide! We are a fully-remote company, but still offer office solutions for those who prefer working in an office setting.”
Job Opportunities 🔥

👉 Sales Development Representative: ($60k – $90k/year)
👉 Sales Executive: ($90k – $150k/year)
👉 Sales Executive: ($90k – $150k/year)
👉 Senior Sales Director: ($180k – $260k/year)
GitBook
🌶️ Hot take
They’re small, but mighty! I so so so wish some of these smaller companies hired more often, but then they wouldn’t be small companies! It’s a trade off. And like most small companies (that really care), they feel very personal, real and relatable.
Here’s some things I like:
🌎 Work from anywhere: to work remotely wherever you want to
🌴 Flex hours & PTO: “to enjoy flexible working hours and unlimited vacation time.”
🏡 Tech budget: “to benefit from a dedicated budget for home office set-up.”
🍼 Parental leave: “to get 16 weeks parental leave to welcome a child (or children!)”
🏄♂️ Retreats: “to enjoy working with a supportive, collaborative team and spend time together during team off-sites.”
🔎 What they do
GitBook combines powerful documentation with AI-powered search and insights to provide technical teams with a single source of truth for their knowledge.
📊 AtlasScore©
Gitbook gets an 85% on the Anywhere Atlas, putting them in the top 15% of all remote companies.

“Absolutely surreal, it all happened so fast! The energy through this process was amazing, and I couldn’t recommend it enough. For years, I spent hours stuck commuting in terrible traffic, especially working in law enforcement. Now I can work from anywhere, no cars, no commute, just pure freedom. If I want to work outside or spend more time playing and enjoying life, I can. The mobility and flexibility are life-changing. Opportunities have already started popping up now that I’ve taken the guardrails off. I couldn’t have done it without you all. Thank you!”

I am not a recruiter nor am not affiliated with any of the companies listed above. I currently cannot help you get hired with one of these specific companies for a role listed, or give you a recommendation. Note: “Hire from anywhere” is not the same as “Work from anywhere.” Some companies are not able to hire employees from anywhere, but this does not mean they are not a “work from anywhere” company.
