Doist doesn’t have a ton of roles open often, so I rarely get a chance to share them, which is a shame because they are an INCREDIBLE company to work for. They have a 4.5 Glassdoor score with 35 reviews – a strong indicator. Here’s some other things I like:

Yodo1 is an absolute WFA darling…I should just have a dedicated newsletter for their job listings (I won’t though). Their entire careers page is about employees, not the company. Even better, they talk ad nauseam about working remotely (which is always good for me).
“We love games, we play games, we grow games—from anywhere in the world. Will you add the next country to our map?”
And this…
“We don’t care about titles, your location, or the hours you work—only your impact on helping developers grow their games.” I could NOT word that any better myself, after seeing thousands of careers pages. Oh, and can I get an AMEN for a clear remote work policy?

I am in love with this careers page, and I’m so sorry for having slept on this company for almost an entire year. Allow me to rectify this situation immediately. Here’s the scoop: 4.9 Glassdoor score (just 5 reviews), a strong remote work policy, awesome careers page, and some great perks & benefits.

Holy moly, I’ve got a new company for you to check out, and the rank in the top ten of our Anywhere Atlas database of fully-remote companies. One of my absolute favorite things to read about remote companies is that they started remote. That means they weren’t forced to adapt to remote life during covid. It means they understand how to manage remote employees, trust them to be autonomous, and recognize their efforts based on output rather than physical attendance.

They also publish a clear-as-day hiring process that outlines the exact expectations and timeline you can have for the process. Lastly, their job listings are crystal clear (though I would prefer to see transparent salary ranges).

These folks have very very little for me to work with from their sparse careers page, BUT they have a work-from-anywhere remote work policy and a 4.7 Glassdoor score. Also, they have a lot of personality and detail in their job listings, which they REALLY should be including on their careers page. Like, seriously. I love some of the buried statements in these listings, like:
“Your success is measured by results, not hours.”
And some awesome perks like:
“Enjoy 24 days of paid vacation plus 10 days of “Celebration Leave” for holidays that matter to you.”
C’mon folks, there is SO much good stuff in these listings – get it formatted on your careers page! I love it. I will say that I LOVE their employee video, which you should definitely watch. Most importantly, they look fun and genuine. Here’s some things I like:

I like A LOT about what I see from Lumos, including their 4.7 Glassdoor rating, full medical benefits, wellness stipends, and $1k annual learning and development stipends.
The only thing (in my mind) that keeps Lumos from moving into the top tier of work-from-anywhere companies is their +/- 4 hour PST timezone restriction. That covers a lot of territory, but would limit digital nomads to only travel in the Americas. It’s not clear whether or not you have to be physically located within the +/- 4 hour window, or if they will let you work those hours from anywhere.

Here’s what I said a couple months ago about CloudEagle:
“With dropping Glassdoor reviews I’ve got CloudEagle on my watchlist for the next couple of months. I never want to put all my stock into GD because employers can stuff reviews, and the bottom 10% of angry employees can bomb out a company’s score. So I would love to hear from some current and past employees for a better feel of how things are going. Shoot me a note!”
🔔 Update: Glassdoor reviews have dropped to 3.0. If it dips below 3 I will drop them from this newsletter. Again, you don’t want to put all your stock into Glassdoor, but it is an indicator we pay attention to.
Also, they eliminated their statement on being a “fast-paced” environment”, which makes me VERY happy.

Lumenalta splits their prospective employee-facing content into careers and culture pages, which can be effective when you have a lot to say. What I love most about their culture page is that they focus 100% on the prospective employee, rather than themselves. It’s very tempting for companies to talk about themselves and their expectations, but it’s a mistake. That comes from a place of insecurity. Lumenalta does a good job of selling me on why I should work there. Here’s some aspects I like:
✅ Strong Peer Reviews: 4.1 Glassdoor score (342 reviews). That’s a strong indicator with a lot of votes.
⏰ Flexible hours: “We’re not about enforcing burdensome time sheets: We recognize that Lumens on our distributed teams across the globe do their best work at different times.”
✈️ Sabbatical: “These can include a luxury gift, a month-long paid sabbatical or monetary recognition.”
🔌 Tech stipend: “$1,000 to spend on whatever helps you feel your best, from gym gear to cooking classes and office decor. Whatever you’re into, we want you to be as fulfilled personally as you are professionally.”
🔎 What they do
Previously known as Clevertech, Lumenalta is a group of highly-trained technologists who have supported the world’s leading brands across industries since 2000. They build custom software solutions with big business impact and have supported brands like Target, Dicom Transportation Group, and Peoplehood.

Heads up on Spring Health: Glassdoor reviews have stabilized at 3.1, if it drops below 3 I am going to drop them from this newsletter until the number improves. This is at the very bottom my threshold for promoting companies, so if it slips again I’ll likely nix them from newsletters until it rises. While this number doesn’t mean everything to me, it is an indicator. Here are some things I do like:

💵 Transparent salaries: Fortunately you know exactly what your salary range will be.
🚨 Vague remote policy alert. I’m confident that the remote roles listed are indeed remote, but I’m not confident that they will let you work from anywhere. I’d love to get some clarification from the company. Also note that many roles are hybrid, in-person, or location-based. I’ve selected a few that do not list specific geographies.

Ok they aren’t totally new to me – they’ve been in the Anywhere Atlas for awhile now – but I’ve never officially reviewed them. And it’s going to be a bit tricky to do because it’s a young, tiny company without a lot to go on. The careers page is sparse and there isn’t much information outside of their individual job listings to go off of. So, here’s what I’ve got for you:
✅ Peer reviews: 4.4 Glassdoor score with only two reviews. There’s not enough here to put any stock into this.
