About the role
Community Phone is building the best phone for communities in America, serving as the business phone for hair salons, auto shops, local government agencies, and personal users. We have more than 20,000 customers today and are building the missing phone.
Our team is ~80 people strong across 15 countries, backed by Y Combinator Accelerator and Y Combinator’s Continuity Fund. We are customer-obsessed to the core and mission-driven to make it as easy as possible for communities to communicate.
As our Product Engineer, you will be a key leader on our engineering team focusing on scaling products to support 100,000+ customers. You will grow to become an owner of high-level outcomes such as reducing support tickets, app usage, and phone service availability.
What you'll do
- Participate in designing the best product for our customers by being an active voice in deciding what to build and why.
- Follow best practices, including accompanying nearly every PR with tests.
- Build and deploy features end-to-end to make a significant impact on company goals.
- Own key product metrics, like the percentage of customers who take specific actions within the app.
- Support the team by participating in thoughtful code reviews and feedback sessions.
What they're looking for
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on usability, front-end, product design, and information architecture.
- Well-versed across the stack using Typescript, Python, and/or Go.
- Native or close-to-native English communication skills.
- Necessary startup experience and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative nature and passion for continuous learning.
